Coming Home

Photography Exposition by: Clara Chavarria

Although I have taken countless photos in my three years here in El Salvador, I have never done an exposition, nor shared a great extent of my work. This series, “Coming Home,” is a piece of my heart, but more so a love letter to Suchitoto. As a foreigner, I got the privilege to experience life here as if a child—with fresh eyes and open to learning new things. Cobblestone streets, historic architecture, market fresh produce, rainy nights--all of which contribute to the beauty this town has to offer. However, more so are the people. The people who sit outside of their houses every afternoon taking in the cool air, greeting each person who passes by. These neighbors have become my family and have taught me that every passerby deserves a “hello.”
